In 2011 the city restaurant Manhattan gathered in the opening hundreds of guests in the centre of the city, just like when the Vērmane historical restaurant was the active centre of Riga where the active townsmen of that time met and discussed the things going on in the world metropolis. When the restaurant was opened, the Vērmane park restaurant building retrieved its historical place in the city environment of Riga centre.

In 2010, the first international magazine publishers’ seminar “Magazines inspire. Research. Publishing.”, took place in Riga. Main subjects of the agenda of the seminar: research by TNS Latvia “Research of media consumption habits of Latvian inhabitants”, additional latest magazine sales information, and the macro-economical situation in Latvia and the purchasing power of inhabitants and the advertisement efficiency in Latvian magazines is outlined. Max von Abendroth, the Executive Director of European Magazine Publishers federation, shared experience about the future of magazines with the presentation Magazines Empower Citizens. 

The seminar was organized by four of Latvia’s biggest magazine publishers.

In September 2010, Latvia’s four biggest magazine publishers - “Rīgas Viļņi”, “Žurnāls Santa”, “Dienas žurnāli” and “Lilita” signed the Latvian magazine publisher’s initiative for joint industry development. By signing the initiative, the biggest magazine publishers agreed to work together, and, by each investing their resources, to put forth together the common objectives for the development of the industry: to highlight the place and role of the magazine in society, promote the effectiveness of advertisements in magazines, to realize a reorganization of the sector and to ensure public access to magazines.

Leading airport operator TAV Airports Holding officially opened its representation office TAV Latvia at Riga Airport and its subsidiary company, ATU, opened the first fully renovated duty-free store. Together with the opening of representation office and the new tax-free shop, TAV promotes the Airport Riga through the aviation gates in the Northern Europe introducing its know-how in the airport business will transfer its unique know-how to Riga International Airport which is one of the main aviation hubs in Northern Europe.

In 2010, the seminar “Digital TV, HDTV and Beyond...” looked at topics such as: digital satellite television broadcasting and the development of HDTV and 3D TV. The seminar was organized by satellite operator SES SIRIUS AB. The seminar was attended by more than 50 industry experts from Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia.
